Hmmm...good stuff here. I know McLaren has some strong critics for the stances he has taken recently, but this is a great video that The Work of the People put together with his thoughts on the Worship Industry.

There's a lot of truth said here. I like it!

ReplyDeleteI dig this, but the closing line "if art is really reaching for truth then that's where we experience God" stops far short of Yahweh worship. McLaren's argument is about genuineness vs. marketing is great, but we must be careful how we phrase things. "really reaching for truth" does nothing. Responding to Jesus Christ in truth is where genuine Christian worship of God rests. It is not the reaching that matters, it's what we're for...the content of our worship that matters.
